Like many large law firms, Hogan & Hartson has realized the need to adopt sustainable business practices, both in relationship to their bottom line as well as the needs of the community at large. In an effort to promote bottom-up support from employees across its 22-plus offices worldwide, the firm launched the EarthWell program to coordinate employee wellness and green business practices.
The EarthWell logo was designed as a sub-brand that could be used for this internal campaign as well as in public relations efforts. In addition to project naming and identity design, Terrapin Studios performed an audit of the firm’s environmental impact with relations to their marketing and printed materials. This has lead to the implementation of duplex (double-sided) printing features on all laser printers and copiers, the use of recycled, pulp-free stock for business cards and letterhead, and a move to ensure that all marketing collateral is printed to the Forest Stewardships Counsel’s criteria for post-consumer paper content and chain of custody assurance.
